 Warden GEAR UP participated in a week long unforgettable government studies adventure through the Close Up Foundation. Close Up specializes in bringing students from across the nation to see and learn what goes on at our Nation's Capital. Students were given Monument Explorations, a Walking Workshop on Capital Hill, Capital Hill Meetings with their own Representative & Senator, Public Policy Seminars, Current Topic Seminars, Washington DC Exploration, and an Exploration of Gettysburg. Students developed great leadership skills in their workshops to back to Warden and benefit the entire community. Students were selected by writing an essay, short answer questions, academic resume, and by the amount of participation in the Warden GEAR UP Program. |
